We’re either brave or stupid…

Why do we say that… and why are we taunting you with new experiments in colour, but not stocking the shelves?

Because… The PurpleKitchen is hard at work, busy dyeing stock for:UK stitch’n’bitch day

So, whilst we build up lots and lots of stock, (and every available surface is yarn obsessed right now!), with a side feeling of enjoying all the marvelous experiments that are coming out of the dyepot, and so the taunting photos are just going to keep on comin’! 😉

I’m sure that photography will get taken at some point soon, however, you’ll definitely be able to see all the lovely yarns in person at the show on 10th November!!!

I’m glad to announce that…

… the six skein special idea is a rather sound idea, that gives fantastic results! Clickerty click to make it huge!

Six Skein Special - Fire

So, keeping with six’s, there are going to be six different colour groups, the above being “Fire”

So, coming soon: Earth, Water, Air, Aether and Metal.

It’s Elemental, my dear reader…

Don’t you just love inspiration when it hits?

I’ve had a brainwave… I’m sure that you are all aware of the various hand dyed yarn “Sock Clubs” around yes?

Now, as I all know, I just don’t “do” sockyarns, so I was wondering if a 3 month run of “Hat and Scarf Club” would inspire the same sort of YarnLust… 3 skeins, 3 different patterns sets, 3 rather individual and natty snuggly things for the coming months.

I’m also thinking about creating the “Six Skein Special” range… One dye run using colour families rather than a specific colour way for 6 skeins. Enough for a unique jumper, and lovely illiteration to boot… 😉

Thoughts and answers on a comment please!

All’s been quiet around here…

Moving house always takes a great deal longer than anticipated eh?

Hopefully, this weekend will be the start of a New PurpleKitchen era, as we clear the Garden in preparation of getting me a Dyeing Workshop Shed sorted out!

I know, I said make one of the Bedrooms a craft room, but quite frankly, that wasn’t going to work. 🙂

I’m dying to get dyeing again! It’s been far too long, I have all this Yummy fibre, sitting in crates begging me to get all dressed up! That, and with Summer coming, the ability to dye and dry in the same day means I should be able to get the shop shelves chockablock with luxurious and wonderful colours!

Still, for the now, there are a great deal of tasty treats in the Merino and Wensleydale sections, and also don’t forget the Indian Sari Silks, direct from the Spinners at Mint Fabrics in India, and our fabulous Jewelery Stitchmarkers on offer.

I promise, when I get the Workshop sorted, you will all be the first to know, and I’m going to have a clearance sale!

New Workshop space for the PurpleKitchen

I’m very optimistic today.

Life has thrown me a double 6, and for various reasons (not all good… *sigh*), in the New Year I’m getting a bigger house!

The good thing about this in terms of Fluffenstuff is that the master bedroom of the property is South facing, and has floor to ceiling glass, lots of space for working and fantastic light for good colour matching.

So, as the property has 3 bedrooms, I’ve decided that this room will be turned into “The Craft Room!”

Space for PurpleKitchen’s Dyeing, Stitchmarker making, and all the other nefarious Crafts that I do, as well as storage for all the Yarn, my personal Stashes of Yarn, Cloth, Beads and Sewing tools and the bubblewrap!

Onwards and Upwards eh?

Recycled Sari Silk yarn!!!

We are very excited here at Fluffenstuff!

After some intense negotiation, we are very proud to present to you both 100g and 200g skeins of very lustrous and smooth Recycled Sari Silk yarn.

Being handspun from long silk fibres rather than Throwser’s Waste fibre as some Sari Silks on the market are, we believe this to be some of the softest and strongest Sari Silk coming into the UK market

Also, as the price fully includes P&P, we also believe it is the best value!

We are also supporting Fair Trade, as (until I’m rich enough to buy it by the 10Kg brick!) it comes to you direct from the mill in India.

Now, if we play our cards right, look for us to be taking that 10Kg to Stitch&Craft 2007!
