Skein Weight: 100g
Fibres Content: 70% Mohair, 30% Silk
Yardage: ~250m per 100g
YarnWeight: Chunky / Bulky
This is very much a luxury yarn. The mohair and silk combo make it light, airy and very warm. These 100g skeins have a fine core with a fluffy halo, and whilst the core is ~laceweight, the halo makes this more a chunky yarn.
I used a tied-dye technique, wrapping 2″ long sections of the skein very tightly with a cotton yarn to stop dye penetration. It’s quite a labour intensive process but gives stunning results! Hence, the name, as when it came out of the pot and I unwrapped it, it looks very much like clouds in the sky!
It’s good for simple lacy projects, such as the crochet curly-whirly.
Recommended Needle/Hook size 6mm (or make it drape large and lacy with 10mm)
